How often should a boiler be serviced?

Once a year — for safety, efficiency and because most manufacturer warranties require it. Landlords usually book it with the annual gas safety check to save a visit.

Repair or replace?

Under 10 years old with a modest fault: usually repair. Older, inefficient, or on its third repair this year: a new condensing boiler typically wins on running costs alone. We quote both options and let you decide — no pressure selling.

Is a boiler service the same as a gas safety certificate?

No — they're complementary. The CP12 is a legal safety inspection of all gas appliances; a service is preventative maintenance of the boiler itself (cleaning, combustion checks, component inspection). Landlords need the CP12 by law; the service protects the asset and warranty.
